ABOUT?
Pittman pillow, and the Pittman pillow system has its roots in 1993, when Ben Pittman, formally trained in furniture design and ergonomics, became incensed by the quality of the pillows in an expensive hotel room in Washington DC, while there for a business presentation.
As Pittman drove home from Washington, he was inspired to design and develop a new way to differentiate one person’s body size from another as it relates to pillow thickness, which had never previously been addressed by the pillow industry.
During the next two or three years, Pittman struggled to come up with a way to easily correlate the thickness of a pillow as related to individual body sizes. Much research was undertaken, and during the research process, the largest pillow manufacturer in the world at the time, Pillowtex, helped, pouring tens of thousands of dollars into the project. With the demise of Pillowtex, Pittman continued to research and design new ways to correlate a pillow with its user, especially dwelling upon the thickness of a pillow and the relative comfort of sleeping pillow.
To insure the comfort, stability, and durability of a pillow is a daunting task, but Pittman did it by developing the following four systems. The combination of the four features pictured below:
